WEEE Ireland collection days in Ballyhaunis and Belmullet

WEEE Ireland is beginning 2017 with a number of public collection days, for the people of Mayo. In an effort to make it as easy as possible for householders in Mayo to recycle their electrical and battery waste, WEEE Ireland, will be hosting a collection day in both Belmullet and Ballyhaunis on Saturday, March 25, where any household item with a plug or battery will be accepted free of charge.

On Sunday, they face into their fourth game in 14 days, having draw the Mayo Senior Hurling Championship final with Tooreen last Sunday week, before they eventually got the better of them in another Titanic encounter in Ballyhaunis last Sunday by just three points. They followed that up on Wednesday evening with a 1-12 to 0-9 win over Roscommon champions Oran in the semifinal of the Connacht Intermediate Championship in the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence and now on this coming Sunday, they face Galway champions Ahascragh-Fohenagh in the final of that competition at 2pm in Athleague.

Following an outbreak of violence on Monday morning in Ballyhaunis at the funeral of well known Traveller Martin ‘Red Breast’ McDonagh, six men from Donegal appeared at Castlebar District Court on Tuesday morning. The six men, all of whom are brothers, were released on bail to appear again before the court on July 19 for DPP directions and the possibility of further charges being brought forward.

Ballina look to keep new year run going
